After apples, bananas are the most frequently eaten fruit in Germany. On an annual basis, the average German consumes 11 kg of this great-tasting tropical fruit. This popularity can be attributed to its natural packaging and the fact that it is a great source of energy.

The Univeg Deutschland Group is one of the biggest importers and banana ripeners in Germany. Whether premium bananas, organic bananas, fair trade bananas or baby bananas, the Univeg Deutschland Group is the expert when it comes to this yellow treat. We have the capacity to ripen 350,000 boxes a week for our own products as well as for bananas from third parties. We use state-of-the-art pressurised fruit ripening systems for optimal timing. Ecological ripening systems take account of the growing demands of consumers in the organic sector.
