Dried fruits are true power packs of energy and the drying process helps them develop their truly unique flavour.
The process of conserving by drying has been practised for thousands of years. Figs, grapes and oleaginous fruits can be dried without the addition of any preserving agents and stored for the whole year. Indeed some fruits dry directly on the tree (figs, cherries, dates) whereas others need to be prepared, e.g. exotic fruits and various vegetables.
Dried fruits are ideal when on the go and as a source of energy for sports enthusiasts. They are also perfect for children’s taste buds (sweet bananas, dates ...) and, with their natural fruit sugars, make a great snack.
